Ride/Trim Height Measurement and Adjustment

Trim height should be checked when steering and vibration complaints are not solved through wheel balancing and front/rear alignments. To
measure correct trim height, proceed as follows:

1. Fuel tank is full and tires are inflated properly.
2. Make sure vehicle is on level ground and passenger compartment and trunk is empty except for spare tire.
3. Seats should be in full back position and all doors, hood and rear deck are closed.

a. All dimensions shown in Fig. 4 are measured vertical to the ground and should be within +/- 0.4 inches to be considered correct. 
b. Lift front bumper approximately 1-1/2 inches and slowly remove hands, repeat a second time.
c. Measure dimensions Z, J and A.
d. Push front bumper down approximately 1-1/2 inches and slowly remove hands, repeat a second time.
e. Again, measure dimensions Z, J and A.
f.

Calculate trim height by taking the average of high and low measurements.

g. Verify and correct trim heights as necessary.
h. Repeat procedure for measurements D, K and B.
