DISASSEMBLE
1. Remove rear cover and drain rear axle fluid Fig. 6 .
2. Remove rear axle assembly. Refer to appropriate chassis chapter for procedure.
3. Remove rear brake pipe assemblies from rear brake cylinders, then disconnect center hose assembly from junction block.
4. Remove rear brake assemblies from housing, then rear axle shaft bearings and seals.
5. Remove rear backing plates, then differential case and differential drive pinion gear.
