Front Brake Caliper Attachment
6. Brake hose fitting (14), copper gaskets, and brake hose (16) from caliper housing (12), if removing caliper from vehicle. Plug openings in brake
hose (16) and caliper housing (12) to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination. Discard copper gaskets.
7. Brake caliper bolts (2).
Suspending Front Brake Caliper
8. Caliper from rotor (1) and knuckle (18). If caliper is not being removed from vehicle for unit repair, suspend it from front suspension using a
fabricated wire hook.
a. Inspect Caliper bolts (2) for corrosion and caliper bolt bushings (3) for cuts and nicks. If damage is found, replace with new parts. Do not
attempt to polish away corrosion.
b. Inspect Brake hose fitting (14). If through-hole in fitting (14) is blocked, remove blockage or replace fitting (14).
