4. Remove camshaft to sprocket bolts, Fig. 12.
5. Remove camshaft sprocket and timing chain together. Do not rotate crankshaft after timing chain has been removed.
6. If crankshaft sprocket is to be replaced, remove it with a suitable gear puller. Install new sprocket, aligning key and keyway.
7. If water pump driven gear is to be replaced, remove mounting bolts, then remove gear using a suitable gear puller. Install new gear using gear
installer tool No. J3092, or equivalent, then install mounting bolts.
8. Install chain on camshaft sprocket. Hold sprocket vertical with chain hanging below and shift around to align the timing marks on sprockets. Align
dowel in camshaft with dowel hole in sprocket and install sprocket on camshaft. When installing camshaft sprocket onto camshaft, ensure
teeth camshaft sprocket and water pump driven gear mesh. Do not attempt to drive sprocket on camshaft as welch plug at rear of engine
can be dislodged.
9. Using tool No. J39089, or equivalent, install water pump driven gear O-ring.
10. Lubricate timing chain with engine oil, then install front cover.
