Exterior Trim Molding/Nameplate Replacement (Trans Am Door Emblem)
Tools Required
J 25070 Heat Gun
Removal Procedure
1. Mark the position of the emblem/nameplate with a length of masking tape.
2. Heat the emblem/nameplate using the J 25070.
3. Apply heat using a circular motion for about 30 seconds.
Notice: Refer to Exterior Trim Emblem Removal Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Remove the emblem/nameplate from the door using a plastic flat-bladed tool.
5. Wash the door with soapy water and wipe dry.
6. Remove all traces of adhesive from the door using a oil-free naptha or alcohol.
Installation Procedure
Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing on the emblem/nameplate.
1. Remove the backing from the emblem/nameplate.
2. Measure 40.0 mm (1.6 in) from the front edge of the door to the front edge of the emblem/nameplate (2).
3. Measure 14.0 mm (0.55 in) from the top edge of the emblem (2) to the bottom edge of the molding (1).
