Flywheel to Torque Converter Bolts

Flywheel to Torque Converter Bolts 

Removal Procedure 

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the torque converter cover. 

Important:  Mark the alignment of the flywheel and the torque converter in order to retain a proper balance.

3. Remove the flywheel to torque converter bolts.

Installation Procedure 

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Important:  All flywheel to torque converter bolts should be hand started before tightening in order to ensure proper alignment, and in order to avoid
cross-threading.

1. Install the flywheel to torque converter bolts. Hand start the bolts.

Tighten the torque converter bolts for the 3.8L to 63 Nm (46 ft. lbs.).

Tighten the torque converter bolts for the 5.7L to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).

2. Install the torque converter cover. 
3. Lower the vehicle.
