Intermittent Service Engine Soon (SES) Lamp Illumination During Light Throttle Operation, DTC P0843 (Inspect for Torn Torque Converter 0-Ring)

2007 Saturn ION
2007-2008 Saturn VUE
with 4T45-E Automatic Transmission (RPO MN5)
Condition
Some customers may comment on an intermittent SES light during light throttle operation.
Upon investigation technicians may find DTC P0843 stored.
Cause
This condition may be caused by the TCC intermittently releasing and re-applying ONLY on a slight upgrade and under light load conditions. This
condition will not occur on level road downgrade or a more aggressive upgrade.
Correction
Technicians are to inspect the torque converter 0-ring and replace it if necessary.
If the 0-ring is not torn refer to SI for other possible causes.
