Condition
Some customer may comment on a fade/static/popping noise from the radio speakers or that the speakers are inoperative.
Cause
This condition may be caused by water entering the trunk and getting the amplifier wet.
Correction
Open the trunk, remove the trim on the right side of vehicle and leave trunk open. Inspect for a leak in the following areas.
1.
Run water on the right tail lamp. It may be necessary to reseal the lamp pocket metal as shown above. If water is entering a seam, use 3M(TM)
Clear Auto Sealer, P/N 08551, or the equivalent.
2.
Run water around the trunk seal and look for water inside the trunk.
3.
Close the deck lid and run water over the entire deck lid area. Inspect the seal around the deck lid. It may be necessary to adjust the deck lid.
