Customer Notification

General Motors will notify customers of this special coverage on their vehicles (see copy of typical customer letter shown in this bulletin - actual
divisional letter may vary slightly). 

Service Procedure

Verify that the catalytic converter assembly requires replacement. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic information in SI.

If the catalytic converter assembly does NOT require replacement, no further action is required. Inform the customer that any additional diagnosis
and repairs are not covered under this special coverage.

Note
When replacing the exhaust manifold/converter, it is also necessary to install support bracket, GM P/N 12617642.

Note
Install the new bracket, GM P/N12617642, using a bolt, GM P/N11570734, to attach the bracket to the exhaust manifold/converter. Tighten the
bolt to 58 Nm (43 lb ft). 
Use bolt, GM P/N 11518623, to attach other end of bracket to the transmission. Tighten the bolt to 53 Nm (39 lb ft).

If the catalytic converter assembly requires replacement, refer to the Exhaust Manifold Replacement (LE5) or (L61) procedure in SI

Warranty Transaction Information

1. Submit a transaction using the table below. 

2. Courtesy Transportation - Submit as Net Item under the repair labor code.

* The amount identified in "Net Item" should represent the dollar amount reimbursed to the customer.

by dealers.
