THIS SERVICE UPDATE INCLUDES VEHICLES IN DEALERSHIP FOR ANY REASON, AND WILL EXPIRE AT THE END OF THE
INVOLVED VEHICLE'S 8 YEAR/80,000 MILE (130,000 KM) EMISSION CONTROLLER WARRANTY PERIOD.
Purpose
This bulletin provides a service procedure to reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) calibration on certain 2006-07 Pontiac G6 vehicles,
equipped with 2.4L 4-cylinder (RPO LE5 - VIN B) engines; and certain 2007 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles, equipped with 2.2L 4-cylinder (RPO L61 -
VIN F) engines. The revised calibration includes OBD system improvements that affect the fuel level sender diagnostics and should be installed as soon
as practical. To verify if an updated calibration is required, refer to the following procedure in this bulletin.
This service procedure should be completed as soon as possible on involved vehicles currently in dealer inventory and customer vehicles that return to
the dealership for reason during the New Vehicle 8 year 80,000 mile (130,000 km) Emission Controller warranty period.

Calibration Information
Do not attempt to order the calibration number from GMSPO. The calibration numbers required for this service procedure are programmed into control
modules via a Techline Tech 2(R) scan tool and TIS 2 Web with the calibration update. Use TIS 2 Web version 7.0 for 2007 (available on 06/24/07),
and on TIS DVD version 7.0/2007 or late, which will be mailed to dealers on 07/05/07. If you cannot access the calibration, call the Techline Customer
Support Center and it will be provided.
Service Procedure
GMVIS must be checked to determine if a specific vehicle requires this action. If GMVIS indicates that Service Update Bulletin 07131 remains 'open'
and ECM reprogramming has not taken place, reprogram the ECM using a Tech 2(R) scan tool with the calibration update from TIS 2 Web.

NOTICE:
Before reprogramming, please check the battery condition to prevent a reprogramming error of any of the modules due to battery discharge. Battery
voltage must be between 12 and 16 volts during reprogramming. If the vehicle battery is not fully charge, use jumper cables from an additional
battery. Be sure to turn off or disable any system that may put a load on the battery, such as automatic headlamps, daytime running lights, interior
