6. Insert a flat-bladed tool into the oil filter bypass hole and remove the bypass valve.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the oil filter bypass valve (1) to the proper depth.

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

2. Install the oil filter bypass hole plug.

Tighten the plug to 19 Nm (14 lb ft).

3. If the air conditioning compressor has been removed, reinstall the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor
