Evaporative Emission Hoses/Pipes Replacement - Engine/Chassis
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake
Manifold/Service and Repair).
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief (Without CH 48027) (See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Filter/Fuel
Pressure Release/Service and Repair/Fuel Pressure Relief (Without CH 48027))Fuel Pressure Relief (With CH 48027) (See: Fuel Delivery and

3. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) vapor line quick connect fitting from the purge solenoid. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect
Fitting Service (See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Line Coupler/Service and Repair/Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
4. Cap or plug the EVAP vapor line and the purge solenoid in order to prevent system contamination.
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
6. Disconnect the EVAP vapor line quick connect fitting at the fuel tank. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (See: Fuel Delivery
and Air Induction/Fuel Line Coupler/Service and Repair/Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
7. Remove the rear brake pipe bracket retaining nuts and release the brackets from the body studs.
8. Release the pipe retainers from the vehicle underbody.
9. Remove the EVAP vapor line from the pipe retainers.
10. Lower the rear of the pipe while moving the pipe rearward slightly, then lower the front of the pipe.
11. Remove the EVAP vapor line from the vehicle.
