Headlining Trim Panel Replacement

Headlining Trim Panel Replacement

Warning

Do not attempt to repair or alter the head impact energy-absorbing material glued to the headliner or to the garnish trims. If the material is damaged,
replace the headliner and/or the garnish trim. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.

Caution:  Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator
module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

Caution:  If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain
airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the roof rail SIR system, if equipped. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling   (See: Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Air Bag(s) Arming and

Disarming/Service and Repair).

2. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement (Convertible)   (See: Trim Panel/Service and

3. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Convertible)   (See: Sun Visor/Service and Repair)Sunshade Replacement (Coupe and

4. Remove the sunshade supports. Refer to Sunshade Retainer Bezel Replacement (Convertible)   (See: Sun Visor/Service and Repair)Sunshade

5. Remove the garnish moldings from the upper center pillar. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Replacement   (See: Trim Panel/Service

and Repair).

6. Remove the rear corner garnish moldings. Refer to Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Replacement (Coupe)   (See: Trim Panel/Service

and Repair)Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Replacement (Sedan)   (See: Trim Panel/Service and Repair).

7. Remove the rear retainers from the headliner.
8. Remove the front passenger seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket   (See: Seats/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Front Seat

Replacement - Bucket).

9. Move the driver seat full forward.

10. Recline the driver seat.
11. Remove the rear seat bolster assembly. Refer to Rear Split Folding Seat Back Bolster Replacement   (See: Seats/Seat Cushion/Service and

12. Remove the rear body trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side (Convertible)   (See: Trim Panel/Service and
