Oil Pan: Service and Repair
Oil Pan Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (See: Starting and
Charging/Battery/Battery Cable/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the engine mount snubber and drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Coupe) (See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and
Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Drive Belt Replacement (Coupe))Drive Belt Replacement (Convertible) (See: Drive Belts, Mounts,
Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Drive Belt Replacement (Convertible)).
3. Remove the air cleaner inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement (See: Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner
Housing/Air Cleaner Fresh Air Duct/Hose/Service and Repair/Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement).
4. Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture (See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Support Fixture).
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
6. Place a suitable drain pan under the oil pan drain plug.
7. Remove the oil pan drain plug and drain the engine oil from the crankcase.
8. Reinstall the oil pan drain plug until snug.
9. Remove the right front splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement - Right Side (See: Body and Frame/Splash Guard/Service and

10. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Replacement (LY7) (See: Starting and Charging/Starting System/Starter Motor/Service and Repair)Starter

11. Remove the engine oil cooler. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Replacement (See: Oil Cooler/Service and Repair).
12. Remove the oil filter adapter. Refer to Oil Filter Adapter and Bypass Valve Assembly Replacement (See: Oil Filter Adapter/Service and Repair).
