Hood Latch: Adjustments
Hood Latch Adjustment
Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage
to the vehicle or personal injury.
Important: Make sure that you have the proper alignment of the hood to the body before you tighten the hood latch retaining bolts
under the following conditions:

After removing the hood latch.
*
After loosening the retaining bolts.
*
After changing the hood adjustment.
1. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (See: Bumper/Front Bumper/Front Bumper Cover / Fascia/Service
and Repair/Front Bumper Fascia Replacement) .
2. Loosen the hood latch to front end module retaining bolts (1).
3. With the hood latch to front end module retaining bolts loose, slowly lower the hood onto the hood latch (2) in order to achieve the proper cross
vehicle adjustment of the hood latch.
4. Raise the hood.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Notice) .
5. Tighten the hood latch to front end module retaining bolts (1).
Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
6. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement (See: Bumper/Front Bumper/Front Bumper Cover / Fascia/Service and
Repair/Front Bumper Fascia Replacement) .
