9. Remove the 2 wheel nuts retaining the brake disc to the hub.
10. Install the front wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair).
11. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
12. With the engine OFF, gradually apply the brake pedal to approximately 2/3 of its travel distance.
13. Slowly release the brake pedal.
14. Repeat steps 12 and 13 until a firm brake pedal is obtained. This will correctly seat the brake caliper pistons and brake pads.
15. Fill the master cylinder reservoir to the correct level. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling (See: Brake Master Cylinder/Service and
Repair/Procedures/Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling).
16. Burnish (bed in) the brake pads and brake discs if required. Refer to Brake Pad and Rotor Burnishing (See: Disc Brake System/Brake
Pad/Service and Repair/Brake Pad and Rotor Burnishing).

Removal Procedure
1. Inspect the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir.

Warning: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning (See: Service Precautions/Technician Safety Information/Brake Fluid Irritant Warning).
Note: Do not completely empty the brake master cylinder reservoir.
Note: The brake fluid level must be midway between the maximum brake fluid level marking and the minimum brake fluid level marking.
2. If required, use J 23738-A to remove some brake fluid until the brake fluid level is midway between the maximum brake fluid level marking and
the minimum brake fluid level marking.
Danger: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the
vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed
and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
4. Remove the front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (See: Maintenance/Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair).
