PARTS INFORMATION

Parts required to complete this campaign are to be obtained from General Motors Service Parts Operation (GMSPO). Only a small number of vehicles
are involved in this campaign, and dealers should only order enough parts to handle the vehicles that actually appear on the dealers' listings. To ensure
these parts will be obtained as soon as possible, they should be ordered from GMSPO on a C.I.O. order with NO special instruction code, but on an
advise code (2).

(The transaxle stud is expected to be present on the vehicle.)

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Install vehicle on a hoist. Raise and prop the hood open.

INSPECTION AND INSTALLATION OF BRACE, ENGINE BLOCK TO INTAKE MANIFOLD:

Look under the intake manifold for brace, part (1) in Figure 1.

If brace is present, proceed to Step 10.

If brace is missing, disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery, raise vehicle and inspect the mounting bosses of the intake manifold
(to cylinder head) for cracks. If cracks are found, replace intake manifold.

USE THE APPROPRIATE "T" OPERATION FOUND IN THE CLAIMS SECTION OF THIS BULLETIN IF IT IS NECESSARY TO
REPLACE A CRACKED INTAKE MANIFOLD.

5.

Confirm that Stud (4) in Figure 1 is present on boss of engine block. If required, install Stud (part number 10012815) into boss of block;
torque to 55 lbs. ft. (75 N-m).
