A/T - Fluid Level Indicator Unseats After Driving

Group Ref.: Transmission

Bulletin No.: 337107

Date: December, 1993

SUBJECT:
TRANSAXLE FLUID LEVEL INDICATOR UNSEATS 2-3 INCHES AFTER DRIVING (INSTALL NEW INDICATOR)

MODELS:
1994 BUICK SKYLARK
1994 OLDSMOBILE ACHIEVA
1994 PONTIAC GRAND AM WITH 2.3L ENGINE
(RPOS L40 AND LD2 - VINS 3 AND D) AND 4T60E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE

Condition:

Some owners may experience the fluid level indicator unseating 2-3 inches after driving.

Cause:

The transaxle fluid level indicator binds in fluid fill tube causing indicator to unseat 2-3 inches after driving.

Correction:

Install new fluid level indicator, P/N 22598504. New indicator has red handle with the words "TRANS FLUID" in black. Vehicles built after the VIN
breakpoints have the revised fluid level indicator installed in production. See illustration.

Parts are currently available from GMSPO.

For vehicles repaired under warranty, use:
