Grand AM L4-144 2.4L DOHC VIN T SFI (1997)
INSTALL OR CONNECT
NOTE: DO NOT wipe grease from the module or coil if the same module is to be replaced. If a new module is to be installed, a package of
silicone grease will be included with it. Spread the grease on the metal face of the module and on the cover where the module seats. This grease is
necessary for module cooling.
1. Install the module (2) to the cover (1).
2. Install the module to cover screws (3). Tighten the screws to 4 Nm (35 lb. in.).
3. Connect the coil harness connector (4) to the module.
4. Install the housing (6) to the cover (1).
5. Install the housing to cover screws (7). Tighten the screws to 4 Nm (35 lb. in.).
6. Connect the spark plug boots (8) and the retainers (9) to the housing (6).
7. Install the ignition coil and ignition control module assembly to the engine while carefully aligning the boots to the spark plug terminals.
NOTE: The ICM cover bolts must be installed with isolator washers with the rubber side facing down.
8. Install the ignition coil and the ignition control module assembly to cam housing bolts after coating the threads with P/N 1052080. Tighten the
bolts to 22 Nm (16 lb. ft.).
9. Connect the electronic Ignition Control Module 11 pin harness connector.
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
