Vacuum Modulator: Service and Repair
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Vacuum line at modulator.
2. Bolt and retainer
3. Modulator and O-ring.

Use care to avoid losing modulator valve from transaxle case.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Modulator and new O-ring.
2. Retainer and bolt.
Tighten
^
Bolt to 20 to 27 Nm (15 to 20 ft. lbs.).
NOTICE: Insure the correct vacuum line is connected to the vacuum modulator on the 2.4L. The correct vacuum line is a short hose from the
main harness to the modulator. It DOES NOT have a black and white vacuum check valve in-line with it. Transaxle damage may occur if the
incorrect vacuum line is connected.
NOTICE: Modulator vacuum orifice must be installed in the correct position. Transaxle damage may occur if the orifice is installed backwards.
