EXCESSIVE CHIPPING OR PAINT FLAKING
Subject:
OF BASECOAT/CLEARCOAT FINISH FROM LOWER BODY CHIP RESISTANT MATERIAL
--
SPECIAL POLICY BULLETIN --
1986 GRAND AM
A durability feature on 1986 Pontiac Grand Am models is a chip resistant material applied to the lower portion of the car body, which is then covered by
the car's paint finish.. We have found that on some of these cars, the adhesion between the two materials may be inadequate. On the affected cars, this
condition may result in flaking or chipping of the paint finish from these lower portions of the car's body.
