Park Brake Cable Replacement- Rear (Drum Brakes)

J 37043 Parking Brake Release

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement.
3. Disconnect the cable from the park brake lever. Refer to Park Brake Cable Replacement - Front.
4. Remove the cable from the backing plate using the J 37043.
5. Disconnect the left rear park brake cable (1) from the equalizer (2) and connector.

6. Disconnect the cable (3) from the bracket (4) using the J 37043.
