Parking Brake Shoe: Service and Repair

Park Brake Shoe Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement - Rear.
2. Remove the parking brake actuator (2). Refer to Park Brake Actuator Replacement.
3. Remove the rear wheel hub (8). Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (Drum Brakes) or Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (Disc

Brakes).

4. Remove the shoe and lining (7).

Installation Procedure

1. Install shoe and lining (7).
2. Install the rear wheel hub. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (Drum Brakes) or Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear (Disc

Brakes).

3. Install the parking brake actuator (2). Refer to Park Brake Actuator Replacement.
4. Adjust the rear parking brake shoe and lining. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment.
5. Install the rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement - Rear.
