Brake Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

1.

Depressurize Powermaster III, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE/DEPRESSURIZING POWERMASTER III.

2.

Disconnect 3-pin electrical connector from pressure switch (26), Fig. 75.

3.

Loosen, but do not completely remove cowl bracket attaching nuts (20), then pull Powermaster III unit slightly forward.

4.

Raise and support vehicle. Using switch socket tool No. J-37117 or equivalent, swivel joint and extensions, remove switch through bottom of
engine compartment.

5.

Remove O-ring (27), from pressure switch, then discard O-ring.

6.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque pressure switch to 15-20 ft. lbs.
b. Torque cowl bracket attaching nuts to 15-25 ft. lbs.
c. Bleed Powermaster III unit, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE/DEPRESSURIZING POWERMASTER III.
