Camshaft: Service and Repair

1.

Remove engine as previously outlined.

2.

Remove valve lifters, then the timing cover as previously outlined.

3.

Remove timing chain and sprocket as previously outlined, then the camshaft.

4.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. If installing new camshaft, coat camshaft lobes with GM E.O.S. 1052367 or equivalent.
b. Lubricate camshaft journals with engine oil.
