General Information
The Body Control Module (BCM) Type provides all of the features of the BCM type 2 and 3 plus content theft deterrent Vehicle with RPO AU0 and
UA6 are equipped with a BCM type 4.
Based on vehicle equipment/options, the Body Control Module (BCM) controls these vehicle systems:

Retained Accessory Power (RAP).

Audible warnings.

Interior lighting.
^
Automatic door locks.
^
Keyless entry (BCM types 3 and 4).

Content theft deterrent (BCM type 4).

Door key unlock illumination (BCM Type 4 Only).

Introduction
This vehicle is equipped with a Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM performs multiple body control functions. Several vehicle systems are directly
connected to the BCM, such as the Retained Accessory Power (RAP), audible warnings, interior lighting, door locks, keyless entry, and the content theft
deterrent. These systems are controlled by the BCM's outputs. The BCM controls its outputs based upon input information obtained from sensors and
switches that are directly connected to the BCM. The BCM evaluates input information and controls body systems by commanding an output on or off.
Keyless Entry
The Body Control Module (BCM) type 3 provides these keyless entry features:

Remote driver door unlock.

Remote all door unlock.

Remote all door lock.
^
Remote activation verification (BCM type 4).
^
Remote alarm (BCM type 4).
^

Retained Accessory Power (RAP)
The Retained Accessory Power (RAP) feature allows the operation of the radio, power windows, power mirrors, and power sunroof (if equipped) for 10
minutes (or until a vehicle door opens) after the ignition switch has been turned from the RUN or ACC to the OFF or UNLOCK position.
