Body Control Module: Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
General Information
The Body Control Module (BCM) Type provides all of the features of the BCM type 2 and 3 plus content theft deterrent Vehicle with RPO AU0 and
UA6 are equipped with a BCM type 4.
Based on vehicle equipment/options, the Body Control Module (BCM) controls these vehicle systems:

Retained Accessory Power (RAP).
^
Audible warnings.
^
Interior lighting.
^
Automatic door locks.
^
Keyless entry (BCM types 3 and 4).
^
Content theft deterrent (BCM type 4).
Retained Accessory Power (RAP)
The Retained Accessory Power (RAP) feature allows the operation of the radio, power windows, power mirrors, and power sunroof (if equipped) for 10
minutes (or until a vehicle door opens) after the ignition switch has been turned from the RUN or ACC to the OFF or UNLOCK position.

Automatic Door Locks
The Body Control Module (BCM) type 2 has these automatic door lock features:

All door unlock.
^
All door lock.

Last door closed locking.
^
Lockout prevention.

Lockout prevention override.

Ignition OFF unlock.
^
Shift into PARK unlock.
^
Shift out of PARK lock.
The BCM type 3 has these automatic door lock features, in addition to BCM type 2 features:

Remote driver door unlock.
^
Remote all door unlock.
^
Remote all door lock.
The BCM type 4 has this automatic door lock feature, in addition to BCM type 2 and 3 features:

Key cylinder unlock.
The BCM provides feature customization of these door lock functions: shift out of PARK lock, ignition OFF unlock, shift into PARK unlock, last door
closed locking, and lockout prevention.
