Power Steering Gear

Tool Required:
-

J 35917 Tie Rod Puller/Ball Joint Remover

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Raise and suitably support vehicle. Refer to VEHICLE LIFTING.
2. Left tire and wheel assembly.
3. Right stabilizer shaft link bolt.
4. Left stabilizer shaft link bolt.
5. Insulator clamp bolts.
6. Insulator clamps.

NOTICE:  Use only the recommended tools for separating tie rod ends from knuckle/strut. Failure to use recommended tools may cause damage
to the tie rod and seal.

7. Nut from tie rod end at the steering knuckle and separate using J 35917.
8. Stabilizer shaft through the left front wheel opening.
9. Disconnect the pinch bolt at the intermediate shaft.

10. Pipe retaining clip from steering gear.
11. Inlet pipes and outlet line at steering gear.
12. Support frame using jack stands.

NOTICE:  Do not lower rear of frame too far as damage to engine components nearest to the cowl may result.

13. Rear frame bolts and lower rear of frame. 
14. Power steering gear mounting bolts and nuts.
15. Power steering gear through left wheel opening.

INSTALL OR CONNECT    

NOTICE:  Always use the correct fastener in the proper location. When you replace a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for that application.
The manufacturer will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. The manufacturer will also call out the fasteners that require
thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases, or other corrosion inhibitors)
