1. Install the water shield and shaft seal on the wiper motor assembly.

NOTE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the wiper motor assembly on the wiper drive system module with three screws.

Tightening
Tighten three screws to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

3. Install the wiper motor crank arm assembly on the wiper motor assembly.

3.1. Install the connector to the wiper motor assembly.
3.2. Turn the ignition switch to the ACCY position.
3.3. Set the wiper switch to the PULSE position. The wiper motor assembly should be operating.
3.4. Turn the ignition off when the wiper motor assembly is in the innerwipe position and not moving.
3.5. Disconnect the connector from the wiper motor assembly.
3.6. Install the wiper motor crank arm assembly on the wiper motor assembly while maintaining a 4-8 mm (0.157-0.314 in) gap between wiper

motor crank arm assembly and bracket tab.

3.7. Install the screw.
3.8. Check the gap between wiper motor crank arm assembly and bracket tab. It the gap is not 4-8 mm (0. 157-0.314 in), remove the crank arm

assembly and repeat installation.

Tighten
Tighten the screw to 16 N.m (142 lb in).

3.9. Install the rubber boot onto the wiper motor crank arm assembly.

4. Install the wiper drive system module on the vehicle with three screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 10 N.m (88 lb in).
