Grand Prix V6-204 3.4L DOHC VIN X SFI (1995)
Underhood Electrical Center #1
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Power for the fan motors comes from 60 amp maxifuse elements to the fan relays. The relays are energized when current flows to ground through
the PCM (Quad-Driver).
Fan 1 relay
The PCM energizes the relay through terminal "A2" when the engine coolant temperature reaches 106°C (223°F) or when A/C is requested.
Fan 2 relay
The fan 2 relay is energized by the PCM if the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor reaches 240 psi or the engine coolant temperature reaches 113°C
(235°F).
CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Checks for power feed to relay at right side underhood electrical center terminals "B4" and "B6."
2. Jumpering terminals "B6" to "C4" bypasses the relay, which should cause the left fan to run if fan motor and wiring are OK.
