Grand Prix V6-204 3.4L DOHC VIN X SFI (1995)
Underhood Electrical Center #1
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Power for the motors comes from 60 amp maxi-fuse elements to the fan relays. The relays are energized when current flows to ground through the
PCM (Quad-Driver).
Fan 1 relay
The PCM energizes the relay through terminal "A2" when the engine coolant temperature reaches 106°C (223°F) or when A/C is requested.
Fan 2 relay
The fan 2 relay is energized by the PCM if the A/C refrigerant pressure reaches 240 psi or the engine coolant temperature reaches 113°C (235°F).
CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Using the Tech 1 misc. tests, "Fan 1" control will cause the PCM to ground CKT 335, energizing the Fan 1 relay.
2. Selecting "Fan 2" with the Tech 1 allows control of CKT 473 and the Fan 2 relay.
