Valve Cover: Service and Repair

FRONT

1.

Disconnect oil/air breather hose from cover.

2.

Remove spark plug wires from plugs.

3.

Remove rear spark plug wire cover.

4.

Remove camshaft carrier cover bolts then the cover and O-ring.

5.

Reverse procedure to install, ensuring bolt isolators are fully seated into cover before tightening cover bolts.

REAR

1.

Remove intake plenum as outlined under INTAKE PLENUM.

2.

Remove secondary timing belt right cover as outlined under SECONDARY TIMING BELT SERVICE/COVER.

3.

Remove spark plug wires and oil/air separator hose at camshaft cover.

4.

Remove camshaft cover bolts then the camshaft cover and gaskets.

5.

Reverse procedure to install, ensuring bolt isolators are fully seated into cover before tightening cover bolts.
