Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1.

Remove air cleaner assembly.

2.

Install engine support fixture tool Nos. J-28467-A, J-28467-90 and J-36462, or equivalent.

3.

Raise and support vehicle.

4.

Remove right tire and wheel assembly and steering gear heat shield.

5.

Remove steering gear bolts then hang steering gear from frame.

6.

Separate ball joints from control arms.

7.

Remove power steering cooler line clips from frame.

8.

Disconnect engine mounts at frame as outlined under MOUNTS.

9.

Support frame assembly and remove frame bolts then remove frame assembly.

10.

Disconnect and remove starter assembly.

11.

Remove flywheel cover.

12.

Remove oil pan nuts and bolts then the oil pan and gasket.

13.

Remove oil baffle nuts. Rotate pick up tube and remove oil baffle.

14.

Reverse procedure to install, tightening oil pan bolts to specifications shown in Fig. 17.
