Headliner: Service and Repair

Headlining Trim Panel Replacement

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

J 2772-C Headliner Installer

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement  (See: Sun Visor/Service and Repair/Sunshade Replacement) in Roof.
2. Remove the sunshade anchors. Refer to Sunshade Anchor Replacement  (See: Sun Visor/Service and Repair/Sunshade Anchor Replacement) in

Roof.

3. Disconnect the electric connector to the rear view mirror.
4. Remove the overhead console, if equipped. Refer to Roof Console Replacement (With Storage)  (See: Console/Service and Repair/Roof Console

Replacement (With Storage)) .

5. Remove the power sunroof switch, if equipped. Refer to Sunroof Switch Replacement  See: Roof and Associated Components/Sunroof /

Moonroof/Sunroof / Moonroof Switch/Service and Repair in Roof.

6. Remove the dome light, if equipped.
7. Remove the coat hooks. Refer to Coat Hook Replacement (Coupe)  (See: Passenger Assist Handle/Service and Repair/Coat Hook Replacement

(Coupe))Coat Hook Replacement (Sedan)  (See: Passenger Assist Handle/Service and Repair/Coat Hook Replacement (Sedan)) .

8. Remove the assist handle. Assist Handle Replacement (W/out Lamp)  (See: Passenger Assist Handle/Service and Repair/Assist Handle

9. Remove the side rail lamp. Refer to Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement (Coupe), Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement (Sedan).

10. Remove the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement  (See: Trim Panel/Service and

Repair/Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement) in Roof.

11. Remove the rear quarter upper trim panels. Refer to Rear Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe)  (See: Trim Panel/Service and

12. Remove the upper center pillar trim panel.
13. Pull down on the door opening weatherstrip seal on both the front and the rear doors.
14. Remove the rear push-in retainers (2) from the headliner using J 38778  .
15. Disconnect the headliner electric harness at the right side of the rear window shelf.
16. Rotate the right front seatback to a horizontal position.
17. Remove the headliner from the vehicle through the right front door.
