Installation Procedure

1. Lubricate the O-ring with coolant.

2. Install the heater pipe adapter

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the heater pipe adapter mounting bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

4. Connect the heater inlet hose to the pipe adapter.
5. Use J 38185 in order to secure the heater core hose clamp.
6. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26, L32 GE 47716 Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26, L32

Static Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (LS4 GE 47716 Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (LS4 Static Fill) in Cooling System.

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26, L32 GE 47716 Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26, L32

Static Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (LS4 GE 47716 Fill) Draining and Filling Cooling System (LS4 Static Fill) in Cooling System.

2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield.

3. Remove the heater outlet hose from the pipe adapter.
4. Use J 38185 in order to position aside the heater hose clamp.
