Ash Tray: Service and Repair
Ashtray

Instrument Panel Ashtray

The front seat ashtray is on the bottom of the instrument panel, in the center. Slide it out to open. To remove the ash receiver, depress heat shield and
pull up on the two side tabs. The cigarette lighter is to the right of the ash receiver.

Remove or Disconnect

1. Front floor console, if equipped.
2. Left instrument panel insulator.
3. Steering column opening filler.
4. Instrument panel cluster trim plate.
5. Open instrument panel ashtray.
6. Screws from the instrument panel ashtray bracket to instrument panel.
7. Electrical connector.
8. Instrument panel ashtray from instrument panel.

Install or Connect

NOTICE: Refer to Service Precautions.

1. Electrical connector.
2. Position instrument panel ashtray to instrument panel making sure top edge of ashtray bracket is against tabs on instrument panel.
3. Screws to instrument panel ashtray bracket to instrument panel.

Tighten

Screws to 2 N.m (18 lb.in.).

4. Close instrument panel ashtray.
5. Instrument panel cluster trim plate.
6. Steering column opening filler.
7. Left instrument panel insulator.
8. Front floor console, if equipped.
