J 37043 Parking Brake Cable Release Tool

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Left side instrument panel insulator.
2. Left side carpet retainers.
3. Left side, lower center pillar trim panel.
4. Fold back carpeting for access.
5. Parking brake cable from hold down clips.
6. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
7. Parking brake cable at equalizer.
8. Lower vehicle.
9. Cable button end from parking brake lever clevis.

10. Cable from parking brake lever using J 37043.
11. Front cable from vehicle.

INSTALL OR CONNECT    

NOTICE:  Always use the correct fastener in the proper location. When you replace a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for that application.
the manufacturer will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. The manufacturer will also call out the fasteners that require
thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases, or other corrosion inhibitors)
on threaded fasteners or fastener joint interfaces. Generally, such coatings adversely affect the fastener torque and the joint clamping force, and may
damage the fastener. When you install fasteners, use the correct tightening sequence and specifications. Following these instructions can help you
avoid damage to parts and systems.

1. Front cable to vehicle.
2. Cable to parking brake lever
3. Cable button to lever clevis.
4. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
5. Tighten nut on equalizer to remove cable slack.
6. Lower vehicle.
7. Parking brake cable to hold down clips.
8. Position carpeting in place.
