Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Service and Repair
WARNING: An electric fan under the hood can start up even when the engine is not running and can injure you. Keep hands, clothing and
tools away from any underhood electric fan. To help avoid personal injury or damage to the vehicle, a bent, cracked or damaged fan blade or
housing should always be replaced.
NOTE: If abnormal noise or vibration is felt from engine compartment, check for dirt or mud build up on fan blades. Clean with the ignition in the
"OFF" position, carefully clean the dirt or mud build up from the fan blades.
REMOVAL
1. Air cleaner and duct assembly.
2. Wiring harness from fan motors and clips.
3. Fan mounting bolts.
4. Fans.
INSTALLATION
1. Fans.
2. Fan mounting bolts. Tighten bolts to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
3. Wiring harness to fan motors and clips.
4. Air cleaner and duct assembly. Inspect operation of the fan motors.
