Popping/Itch Noise from I/P Panel Upper Trim (Defroster Grille) or Windshield Area (Replace I/P Upper Trim)

Condition
Some owners may comment on a popping/itch noise coming from the I/P upper trim (defroster grille) or windshield area.
Cause
The noise may be caused from movement between the attaching clips on the I/P upper trim (defroster grille) and the instrument panel. The noise occurs
when the vehicle's interior temperature cycles from cold to warm.
Correction
Replace the I/P upper trim following the procedure in Section 8C of the Service Manual. The new upper trim panel will come with specially coated clips
to correct this condition. The old part numbers have been superseded and the new parts will be shipped. Additional retainers are available in a package of
10.
