INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Set parking brake and block wheels.
2. Place transaxle and shift control in "Neutral" position.
3. Before connecting the two cable sections, connect each cable section to:

The automatic transaxle range selector lever and shift cable bracket.

The column or console shift control and retainer or wiring harness clip.

4. Insert the metal end fitting of the shift control cable into transaxle cable end and push together using the molded end fittings until the metal post

snaps into place.

5. Depress the adjuster clip once. This will mobilize the adjuster housing toward the transaxle end fitting.
6. Line up the end fittings so they slide together and you will feel the parts cam together and lock.
7. Depress the adjuster clip completely. This will lock the cable into its adjusted service position.
8. Pull conduit in opposite direction to assure full system adjustment of shift cable.
9. Shift cable retainer and wiring harness clip or strap.

Important:  Horseshoe clip with tab will be flush when fully engaged.

Automatic Transaxle Range Selector Lever Cable Bracket

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Automatic transaxle range selector lever cable from automatic transaxle range selector lever.
2. Automatic transaxle range selector lever cable from bracket.
3. Automatic transaxle range selector lever cable bracket bolts/screws.
4. Automatic transaxle range selector lever cable bracket.

 
INSTALL OR CONNECT    

NOTICE:  Always use the correct fastener in the proper location. When you replace a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for that application.
The manufacturer will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. The manufacturer will also call out the fasteners that require
thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases, or other corrosion inhibitors)
on threaded fasteners or fastener joint interfaces. Generally, such coatings adversely affect the fastener torque and the joint clamping force, and may
damage the fastener. When you install fasteners, use the correct tightening sequence and specifications. Following these instructions can help you
avoid damage to parts and systems.

1. Automatic transaxle range selector lever cable bracket.
2. Automatic transaxle range selector lever cable bracket bolts/screws.

-

Tighten bolt/screw to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

3. Automatic transaxle range selector lever cable to bracket.
4. Automatic transaxle range selector lever cable to automatic transaxle range selector lever.
