Rear Door Exterior Handle: Adjustments
Door Handle Rod Adjustment - Rear Outside
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the rear door trim pad. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door See: Rear Door Panel/Service and Repair
2. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (See: Rear Door Panel/Service and Repair) .
The water deflector does not need to be completely removed.
3. Raise the window to the full upright position.
4. Open the outside handle rod to lock clip located on the door lock.
5. Remove the outside door handle to the door. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Front Outside (See: Front Door/Front Door Handle/Front Door
Exterior Handle/Service and Repair/Door Handle Replacement)
Installation Procedure
1. Install the outside door handle to the door lock . Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Front Outside (See: Front Door/Front Door Handle/Front
Door Exterior Handle/Service and Repair/Door Handle Replacement)
Important: The outside handles have adjustable outside handle lock rods. This allows for adjustment of the amount of travel needed in
order to operate the outside handle.
When servicing a vehicle with adjustable outside handle lock rods, remove all free play between the outside handle and the lock. Also, do
not operate the outside handle before these connections are made.
2. Install the outside handle rod into the clip.
3. Close the clip cover over the outside handle rod.
