Grand Prix V6-3.8L VIN 2 (2004)
3. Install the brake pad retainers (1) into the brake caliper bracket (5).
4. Install the inboard (2) and outboard (3) brake pads into the brake caliper bracket.
5. Pivot the brake caliper (6) down over the brake pads (3, 2) and into the brake caliper bracket (5).

6. Insert the lower brake caliper pin bolt.

Tighten the brake caliper pin bolt to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the park brake cable guide clip to the lower control arm.

Tighten the park brake cable guide bolt to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
9. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
10. With the engine OFF, gradually apply the brake pedal to approximately 2/3 of its travel distance.
11. Slowly release the brake pedal.
12. Wait 15 seconds, then repeat steps 10-1 1 until a firm brake pedal apply is obtained. This will properly seat the brake caliper pistons and brake
pads.
13. Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir to the proper level. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling in Hydraulic Brakes.
14. Burnish the pads and rotors. Refer to Burnishing Pads and factors.
