CONDITION
General Motors has decided that certain 2004 model year Pontiac Grand Prix vehicles fail to conform to Federal/Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard
135, "Passenger Car Braking Systems". On some of these vehicles, the right rear brake hose fitting may not be tightened properly and a brake fluid leak
could occur. If the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir dropped to the indicator limit, the brake system warning light would be activated. If
enough additional fluid leaks, the brake pedal will be lower than normal and stopping distances will be longer. If this occurs when stopping distance is
limited, a crash could occur.
CORRECTION
Dealers are to tighten the right rear brake hose fitting to the proper torque specification, and add brake fluid if necessary.
VEHICLES INVOLVED
Involved are certain 2004 model year Pontiac Grand Prix vehicles built within the VIN breakpoints shown.
IMPORTANT:
Dealers should confirm vehicle eligibility through GMVIS (GM Vehicle Inquiry System) or GM Access Screen (Canada only) before beginning
recall repairs. [Not all vehicles within the above breakpoints may be involved.]

PARTS INFORMATION
Parts required to complete this recall are to be obtained from General Motors Service Parts Operations (GMSPO). Please refer to your "involved
vehicles listing" before ordering parts. Normal orders should be placed on a DRO Daily Replenishment Order. In an emergency situation, parts should be
ordered on a CSO = Customer Special Order.
RECALL IDENTIFICATION LABEL
Place a Recall Identification Label on each vehicle corrected in accordance with the instructions outlined in this Product Recall Bulletin. Each label
provides a space to include the recall number and the five-digit dealer code of the dealer performing the recall service. This information may be inserted
