Rear Knuckle Alignment Link: Service and Repair

FRONT

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
2. Remove rod to knuckle bolt, then the exhaust pipe heat shield.
3. Lower fuel tank to gain access.
4. Remove lateral link to knuckle attaching bolt.
5. Remove lateral link to suspension crossmember attaching nut and bolt, then the lateral link.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten lateral link to suspension crossmember nut and lateral link to knuckle bolt to specifications.

REAR

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
2. Remove transverse spring as outlined under Leaf Spring.
3. Remove lower auxiliary spring bracket from rod.
4. Remove rear lateral link attaching nut from crossmember.
5. Push bolt forward enough to provide clearance for link removal, then remove rear lateral link.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten lateral link to suspension crossmember nut and lateral link to knuckle bolt to specifications.
