Subject: EI08083 - Unusual Noise Coming from Center Speaker in Instrument Panel - Crackling, Popping, Distortion, Buzz, Rattle (Replace Amplifier
and Speaker)

Models:

2005-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix (SE, GT & GTP Models)
with Monsoon Audio (RPOs U87, U88)

Supercede:
This bulletin is being revised to add model years and include replacement of the radio speaker amplifier. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number
08-08-44-004A (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).

Condition

Some customers may comment on an unusual noise coming from the center channel speaker. The noise could be described as crackling, popping,
distortion, buzzing or rattling.

Correction

Replace the radio speaker amplifier. Inspect the speaker again for noise. If the speaker still exhibits the symptom, replace the radio front speaker (I/P
center channel speaker).
