Trunk / Liftgate Hinge: Service and Repair

Hinge Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear window shelf trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf  (See: Interior Moulding / Trim/Rear

Shelf/Service and Repair) .

2. Remove the rear compartment lid struts. Refer to Strut Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid  (See: Trunk / Liftgate Shock / Support/Service and

Repair) .

3. Remove the rear compartment lid. Refer to Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear  (See: Service and Repair) .

4. Remove the rear compartment lid hinge cap (1) from the rear compartment lid hinge (4), if necessary.
5. Use a grease pencil to mark the hinge to the hinge mounting panel (3) for the location at installation.
6. Remove the 4 bolts (2) from hinge (4) at the hinge mounting panel (3).
7. Remove the hinge.
