Brake Hose Replacement - Rear 

Removal Procedure 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. 

3. Clean the brake hose (4) and the 2 fittings (1, 5).

4. Caution:  Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in Service Precautions.

Notice:  Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice in Service Precautions.

Hold the hose with a wrench. Loosen and disconnect the brake pipe flare nut.

5. Install a cap or a plug to the brake pipe in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
6. Remove the brake hose retainer (2).
7. Remove the brake hose from the bracket (3).
8. Remove the fitting (5) from the caliper.
9. Remove the brake hose from the caliper.

10. Remove and discard the 2 brake hose gaskets (6).
11. Install a cap or a plug to the caliper in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

Installation Procedure 

1. Ensure the brake hose and the caliper mating surfaces are clean and free of burrs.
2. Remove the cap or the plug from the caliper.
3. Align the peg on the brake hose with the dimple on the caliper.
