Power Steering Reservoir Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement

Power Steering Reservoir Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement 
Removal Procedure 

1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any power steering fluid.

2. Notice:  Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in Service Precautions.

Loosen the hose clamp (7) that retains the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose (6) to the power steering gear outlet pipe.

3. Remove the inlet hose from the pipe.
4. Loosen the hose clamp (5) that retains the inlet hose to the reservoir.
5. Remove the hose from the reservoir.

Installation Procedure 

1. Notice:  Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose (6) to the reservoir. Install the hose clamp (5).

2. Install the reservoir inlet hose to the power steering gear outlet pipe. Install the hose clamp (7).

3. Notice:  Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in Service Precautions.

Fill the power steering fluid reservoir.  

4. Notice:  Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Notice in Service Precautions.

Bleed the power steering system.
