Wheel Stud Replacement 

Tools Required

J42066 Rear Hub Holding Tool

J43631 Ball Joint Remover

Removal Procedure 

1. Remove the front brake rotor.
2. Rotate the hub in order to align the stud with the recess in the knuckle.
3. Install the J42066, or the equivalent tool, and 2 wheel nuts onto 2 studs in order to prevent the hub from turning.

4. Use the J43631, or the equivalent tool, in order to remove the wheel stud.
5. Use the same process in order to remove the other 4 wheel studs.

Installation Procedure 

1. Align the wheel stud hole in the hub with the recess in the knuckle.

2. CAUTION:  If one stud is damaged, replace all the studs. A loose-running wheel may cause only one stud to break, but the other studs could have

internal fatigue. Replacing only the broken stud and remounting the wheel may cause further damage and personal injury. If the stud holes in the 
wheels have become enlarged or distorted, replace the wheel. 

Install the wheel stud (3) into the stud hole.

3. Install 3 washers (1) and a wheel nut (2) onto the wheel stud.
4. Install the J42066, or the equivalent tool, and 2 wheel nuts onto 2 studs in order to prevent the hub from turning.
5. Tighten the wheel nut (2) in order to seat the wheel stud.
6. Use the same process in order to install the other 4 wheel studs.
7. Remove the wheel nut and the 3 washers.
8. Remove the J42066, or the equivalent tool, and the 2 wheel nuts.
9. Install the brake rotor.
