and rear of the lower intake manifold contact the engine block (1).

2. Install the lower intake manifold gaskets.
3. 3.With gaskets in place, apply a small bead, 8-10 mm (0.31-0.39 in), of RTV Sealer, GM P/N 12346141 (Canadian P/N 10953433) or equivalent

to the intake manifold to block joint (2), and a drop, 8-10 mm (0.31-0.39 in), of RTV Sealer, GM P/N 12346141 (Canadian P/N 10953433) or
equivalent to the 4 corners of the intake manifold to block joint (1).  

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the valve rocker arm bolts.

Use the J 36660-A to tighten the bolts to 19 Nm (14 ft. lbs.) plus 30 degrees.

5. Install the lower intake manifold.
6. Install the lower intake manifold bolts.

7. Tighten the lower intake manifold bolts.

Notice:  Failure to tighten vertical bolts before the diagonal bolts may cause an oil leak.

8. Tighten the lower intake manifold bolts.
